You can now make your entry to our Festival 2013 Slogan Competition by ‘ LIKING US’ on Facebook @ Montserrat Annual Facebook Page .  The Deadline for the competition is 22nd February.

Criteria:

Theme: traditional festival entertainment e.g. steel band, string band, masquerade including iconic mas characters such as John Bull and Miss Goosie.

  • The Slogan should be suggestive of the theme and does not have to directly mention the said characters or groups
  • Slogans should be recitable. Keep it short and catchy; the shorter the better
  • Open to any resident of Montserrat and nationals living abroad
  • Entrants may submit as many slogans as they choose

Judging: All entries are recorded and numbered by someone not involved in the selection. The Montserrat Festival Committee does not see the entrants’ names until after the final selection is made.

Prizes: Official Festival T’Shirt + 2 MONFEST Season Tickets

Publicity: Entrants forfeit all rights to receive any royalties from the sale of all promotional materials created by MonFest / Department of Culture in which the entrants’ work appears.

The celebration of St. Patrick’s Day in Montserrat is marked by a ’week’ of activities highlighting the rich cultural and Irish heritage of the island. MONTSERRAT FESTIVAL COMMITTEE RECRUITMENT EVENING, 5th February 2013

The Montserrat Festival Committee will be holding a Recruitment Evening on 5th February 2013, at the PIU Conference Room, Little Bay Market (Upstairs) Brades Primary School, Blue Wooden Building,  7pm.  Persons interested in serving on the following sub-committees are invited:

Calypso Shows, Queen Show, Day Time Activities, Fundraising, Opening of Festival, Carol Singing, Troupes & Groups, Street Jams,  Prize-Giving , Marketing  & Promotion, Access and Hospitality.

 Also, the Culture Division is looking for persons to form our ‘2013 Culture Crew.’

These persons will provide general assistance at all Division of Culture / MonFest events and promotional activities.

Interested persons must be flexible and able to assist at short notice, be willing to work over the Festival Period, be physically strong, helpful and willing to show initiative. A valid driver’s licence will be an asset.

  • Slogans should be recitable – keep it short and catchy; the shorter the better
  • Open to any resident of Montserrat and nationals living abroad
  • Children or dependents of MonFest members are not eligible to enter the competition
  • Entrants may submit as many slogans as they choose

 Judging:

 All entries are recorded and numbered by someone not involved in the selection. The Montserrat Festival Committee does not see the entrants’ names until after the final selection is made.
